Matahari Fashion Award

It’s been quite a while since my last post. Life got a bit weird and twisty and the blog is unfortunately one of the casualties. ANYHOW, I’m entering the Matahari Fashion Award for the SECOND time (the first one here) for a chance to be able to Jakarta Fashion Week’s official blogger!
The rule is quite simple. We’re allowed to style ourselves in whatever way we desire using three of Matahari Department Store’s items. I went there around a week ago and it didn’t take long at all for me to pick out what I want (duh, women and department stores, stereotypes, etc). With the items I bought I came up with these two style ideas. Call me old fashioned, but I love matching prints or patterns with plains. That’s why I decided to pull off these outfits, hoping to somehow “revolutionize” my own style.
HERE WE GO!
Numero Uno: Brighter than life casual
Print sweatshirt with pants! It’s one of fashion’s oldest trick in the book to stay warm during chilly nights. It’s also one of my favorite looks to wear during the day. BUT, this one comes with a twist. Instead of wearing my usual overworn jeans, I decided to match it with ultra bright red skinny pants instead! I’m not one of those girls who love to crash colors, but I decided to try it out and voila! You decide.

Numero Due: Monochromic Geek
No, not really geek. I’m just not that creative when it comes to naming my own style and “geek” is the best word I can come up with (how surprising!). Well, I’m just saying this style would look good even when worn to the office or such. The combination of the loose fitting striped shirt with black oversized pants is actually quite mindblowing. Put on your most daring red lipstick and you’re ready to go!
Note: a lot of people around me are curious about the pants I wore in these photos. FYI, it’s called “galembong”. It’s what I always wore during my theater days in high school (such beautiful, uncomplicated days those were).

BY THE WAY, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m applying the anonymous concept in my photos. That’s why you don’t see my full face in the pics. A girl has to properly maintain her secretive side anyway (yeah, right). That’s it! Off crossing my fingers and digging my head into my pillow hoping I’d win!
